Good Evening, AV Eagle is the world's only stand alone program that watches both your anti-virus software and firewall software. AV Eagle tests your outgoing firewall status AND your virus scanners ability to ensure that your security software is working correctly.

Keeping you and your computer safe is very important. Two Brothers Software would like to present some simple tips to keep you and your family safe and secure on the internet.

1. Never allow children on the internet unsupervised.
In today's world it is not safe for children to be left alone on the internet. If you do not directly supervise them, use a parental control browser, such as the SYF browser.

2. Don't fall into a spam trap. Spam traps are considered the following:
  • Don't reply to spam messages
  • Don't sign up for 'remove me from your mailing list'
  • Use a spam blocker on your computer or from your provider
  • Don't forward messages
  • Don't send messages to large lists of people
  • Don't give out your e-mail address in an internet form, unless you have a specific reason
  • Don't click on links in email messages unless you are absolutely sure who the sender is, this includes just to look and see..

    • 3. Test your firewall and virus scanner with a secuirty testing suite, such as AV EAGLE. Don't be fooled by companies telling you that you don't need to or shouldn't. Don't even believe that you can't. Putting this into perspective, would you buy a smoke detector that said you can't test it? It makes no sense.

    4. Buy only a reputable Virus Scanner, or Firewall and buy from a reputable company. Some spyware writers are now installing spyware in anti-spyware software or virus scanners. If you really are unsure, buy one from a trusted local store where you can get support for the product.

    5. Don't download anything from an email unless you are sure what it is and who sent it. Only open it after you have scanned it! This is a top way to prevent you from getting infected from a virus.

    This list is not designed to be all inclusive, but just some great suggestions on keeping your computer and your family safe.
